A Big Thanks to the People Who Read this Blog! On March 17, 2013, I posted my first blog post.  I called it: "Make art.  Think like an artist."  I read it again this morning, and time has been kind to it.  It still resonates.  Since then, I have created nearly 400 posts.   If I were Seth Godin, I'd turn them into a book or two.  When I started this blog, I hoped to regain a voice I had had when I wrote a column every other month for the newspaper of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis ( BAMSL ).  The newspaper had about 7,000 readers.  My column was called from "Conflict to Collaboration" and discussed dispute resolution theory, techniques, ethics, and use.  When I began teaching, I quit writing the column. As an academic, I lost my first-person, more colloquial voice in my law review writing.  The academy prefers the conceit that the words, and any analysis they reflect, appear on the page without a particular author's help or pers

Updating My Blog Roll

My Picks  from the  7th Annual Blawg 100 In December, the ABA Journal published its  7th Annual Blawg 100 issue listing those law blogs it identifies as hosted by dedicated, creative, and engaged bloggers. Polls closed for voting on the current list, but I've used it to update my blog roll. One of the unanticipated benefits of having a blog is the opportunity to build a blog roll. Postings on the blogs I track keep me inspired and up-to-date.  I also hope the list gives you a quick way to link to some of the top law bloggers that may be of interest to you. So, here are the blogs I'm adding: Arbitration Nation Dewey B Strategic JD Careers Out There Jotwell Law School Cafe The Legal Watercooler The Legal Whiteboard Real Lawyers Have Blogs Small Firm Innovation Technology & Marketing Law Blog And, I am dropping nine blogs from the roll.  After a year of tracking them, I find that I did not like the quality of the content, the infrequent posting

This morning, I spent several hours reviewing the law blogs (or blawgs) that look interesting to me and adding them to this website so I could track them more easily.  The good news is you can track them more easily, too, by reviewing the list on the right side of this page. That list will show the name of the blog, the title of the latest posting, and how recently the author posted. For this research project, I used the list of 100 top legal blogs assembled by the ABA found  here .  I focused on the following categories: Legal News/Analysis Trial Practice Business of Law Marketing a Law Practice Careers/Law School Courts, and Legal Technology I hope you find this resource helpful.
